Want more great gift ideas? Your humble drones make one of the best gift ideas. Whether it’s for a child or an adult there’s a drone for all ages. The best thing about drones are they’re a lot easier to fly than those RC Planes! My brother has one of those RC planes. Actually he has two a cheap one and a more expensive one. He hasn’t flown the expensive one yet because he hasn’t landed the cheap one without crashing it yet.

One of the reasons drones are great gift ideas is because there’s a price range to suit almost every body. Lets have a look at some of the many drones out there, from the cheapest to the more expensive.

Drones, Great Gift Ideas For All Ages

Great Gift ideas cheap dronesThe Eachine is not only one of the cheapest drones I’ve been able to find, it’s also one of the most popular! It’s received almost a perfect rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars from over 2,000 reviews. This one is mainly for the kids but I’m sure some of those kids will have to wait until the adults are ready to hand it over.

Obviously comes with a remote control but other accessories include some spare parts, USB cable to charge and everything you need to get it off the ground.

Best drone gift ideasOur next drone, at under $50, is the Syma. Over 600 customers have left reviews for this remarkable quadcopter and once again it’s achieved a 4.8 rating.

Once again, even thought it’s aimed at kids I’m sure there are a lot of adults that would love the Syma. What’s really great about the Syma is that it’s one of the few drones (make sure you select Syma X5C for camera) that can come with a 2MP camera for under $50.

provessional drone great gift ideasOK, lets have a look at one just over the $100 mark. The MJX X101 quadcopter will only set you back just under $110 while it’s on special. This is for the camera version. It’s a lot cheaper without the camera. Even with a 4.5 rating I’m sure it’s a really good buy.  Here is one of the reviews.

“Excellent build quality and value for the money. The battery delivered almost 15 minutes of flight (without camera attached). Easy to control and navigate. The item was dispatched very quickly, also the seller has excellent response rate – he sent out the missing camera holder from the package the same day.”

Professonal drone great gift ideasFinally, we have a more professional drone, the Xiaomi Mi Drone, which is currently on special for under $430! Although only 15 people have left reviews for this drone it has a 5 star, perfect, rating. It has heaps of features including track and return, GPS assisted hover and will even return home when it detects low battery life.

Other features include longer flight times and even has route planning where the drone will fly according to the planning route you set for it.

As you can see there are heaps of drones that make great gift ideas. You can see heaps more great drones by clicking here. You can also find a whole heap of cool drones on Amazon.

Note: While you can find the Fitbit on Amazon it’s always a good idea to check eBay to see if you can find a better deal. If the Fitbit Charge HR is more than you want to pay then I recommend you check out some of the cheaper copies available at my new Gift Store.

it was my birthday on the weekend and I got the best gift ever. I dropped a couple of hints leading up to my birthday and so I was really hoping the hints would take fruit. When I opened my birthday and saw my Fitbit Tracker I was absolutely thrilled. There are quite a few Fitbit Trackers available and I was lucky enough to get the Fitbit Charge HR which I’m reviewing for this post. You can see a collection of all the Fitbits available on this page.

Fitbit Charge HR Review

Fitbit Charge HR review

You can see me wearing my Fitbit Charge HR in the image on the left. Normally you don’t see the digital display unless you give the Fitbit a tap or when you bring your wrist up and twist it. I found that to be pretty cool.

Fitbit Charge HR Features

The Fitbit can track so many activities. I reckon the Fitbit Charge HR’s best feature is that it can track so many aspects of my daily activities. This includes steps, distance, floors climbed, calories burned, total amount of minutes I’ve been active as well as telling the time! If I was to go for a run it would also display run time, pace and distance travelled.

I actually went for a walk/jog/run and my Fitbit app not only recorded distance, time and pace it also used the GPS feature of my iPhone to map out my complete exercise route.

My Fitbit Charge HR also monitors my sleep including stats such as hours slept, times awakened and my sleep quality. It’s even got a silent vibrating alarm so that I don’t have to worry about waking up the missus.  :wishful:

As far as I’m concerned though I reckon the Fitbit Charge HR’s most important feature is that it continually monitors my heart rate. It doesn’t matter if I’m asleep, just sitting in front of the TV or working out, the Fitbit tracker gives me continuous updates of my heart rate.

The Fitbit is the perfect gift for almost anybody who wants to get fit. It helps you to get motivated and to stay motivated. With the Fitbit app you can also compete with friends who also have the Fitbit tracker. I know I love mine and as you can see from other Fitbit Charge HR owners, they love theirs as well

I’ve never heard of the Amazon Echo until today. I’m actually dumbfounded that this is the case because the Amazon Echo seems absolutely astounding. It truly seems to be a technological marvel. This is a letter from the Founder and CEO!

Dear Customers,

Today, we are excited to announce that Amazon Echo is available to everyone.

We launched Echo as an invitation-only program in November to learn how customers would use and enjoy it most. The response has been overwhelming.

Amazon Echo

Echo was born from a simple idea: create a computer, controlled entirely by your voice. This idea required some incredible invention. It had to understand natural language requests, from many voices, from across a room, even when music is playing. It also needed to be informative, entertaining, and useful—while always getting smarter.

With seven microphones, beam-forming technology, and noise cancellation, Echo achieved this goal by enabling far-field voice recognition. And Alexa, our cloud-based voice service that powers Echo, provides information, music, news, weather, and more—and she is constantly learning new skills.

Since launch, we have added streaming music from Pandora, audiobooks from Audible, calendar access, live sports scores and schedules, traffic reports, Amazon.com re-ordering, control of connected devices such as lights and switches from WeMo and Philips Hue, and more. Many of these features are a result of feedback and suggestions from our customers—thank you.

I am excited by what the team has done in a short period of time with your help—and we’re just getting started. We hope you enjoy  Amazon Echo

You have to admit it sounds bloody amazing! It would make the perfect gift for almost any occasion. I’m sure that most people would love the Amazon Echo for a gift. Especially those who are handicapped in some way. Reading some of the reviews a wife got one for her wheel chair bound husband. She loves that its given him back some of independence.

I’m sure it would also be great for the visually impaired as well! Here are just some of the things the Amazon Echo can do.

Product Description

Amazon Echo is a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more—instantly. All you have to do is ask. Echo has seven microphones and beam forming technology so it can hear you from across the room—even while music is playing. Echo is also an expertly tuned speaker that can fill any room with 360° immersive sound. When you want to use Echo, just say the wake word "Alexa" and Echo responds instantly. If you have more than one Echo or Echo Dot, Alexa responds intelligently from the Echo device you're closest to with ESP (Echo Spatial Perception). Amazon Echo provides hands-free voice control for Amazon Music—just ask for your favorite artist or song, or request a specific genre or mood. You can also search for music by lyrics, when a song or album was released, or let Alexa pick the music for you. Listen to any song with Amazon Music Unlimited. Amazon Echo also provides hands-free voice control to Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. Plus, Echo is Bluetooth-enabled so you can stream other popular music services like iTunes from your phone or tablet. Echo has been fine-tuned to deliver crisp vocals with dynamic bass response. Its dual downward-firing speakers produce 360° omni-directional audio to fill any room with immersive sound. Tucked under the light ring is an array of seven microphones that use beam-forming technology and enhanced noise cancellation. With far-field voice recognition, Echo can hear you ask a question from any direction—even while playing music. When you want to use Echo, simply say the wake word, "Alexa," and Echo lights up and streams audio to the cloud, where the Alexa Voice Service is leveraged to recognize and respond to your request instantly. Always Getting Smarter Alexa—the brain behind Echo—is built in the cloud, so it is always getting smarter. The more you use Echo, the more it adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary, and personal preferences. And because Echo is always connected, updates are delivered automatically. Just in the last few months we've added local search from Yelp, movie showtimes, Samsung SmartThings support, Google Calendar, Audible audiobooks, text-to-speech for Kindle eBooks, and over 100 new skills from third-party developers. Echo has Skills Skills add even more capabilities like ordering a pizza from Domino's, requesting a ride from Uber, opening your garage with Garageio, and more. Enabling skills lets your Echo do even more—simply discover and enable the skills you want to use in the Alexa App. New skills are being added all the time. You can also see ratings and reviews to learn what other customers are saying about skills in the Alexa App. Control Your Smart Home Use Echo to switch on the lamp before getting out of bed, turn on the fan or space heater while reading in your favorite chair, or dim the lights from the couch to watch a movie—all without lifting a finger. Echo works with smart home devices such as lights, switches, thermostats, and more from WeMo, Philips Hue, SmartThings, Insteon, Nest, ecobee, Wink, and more. Do More with the Alexa App With the free Alexa App on Fire OS, Android, iOS, and desktop browsers, you can easily setup and manage your Echo.
